30 Year Star Wars Anniversary at Logos, Grand Prairie TX (Saturday June 10, 2007)

R2D2 and JIQ

Yup! That would be me. The bolding guy with a 5 year old overgrown RC R2D2 toy.

We got at the Logos place around 5:00 PM. It took me some time to assemble the batteries and the other details, but by 12:15, R2 was strolling up the parking lot.

At this point I realize the batteries are not holding the charge as they used to, so they are next in line to be junked. R2 was moving very slowly, but still it behaved all night long with the crapy batteries.

Too many J’s for your tatse? That’s how the Quinones family has developed over the last few decades. My kids names will start with A, though...

Kids and adults were having a blast at the activity. There were three Darth Vaders, a JEDI, a SITH and me. I though there was going to be more costumes, but there was not that many. Apparently a lack of advertising?

Tons of people went and have their picture taken with R2D2, which is great because...

We must have entered Imperial Space. Through our FM radio we started hearing a message...

“Stop it there, you rebel scum!” - I heard. To what I thought, “AHHH!! Stuff it you frigging fools!

I had no idea they were talking t me, but then they fired!

Some evasive maneuvers later I was able to loose them, but...
