In this picture, all accessories such as compartment doors, ornament panels, hollographic projectors, etc. can be seen.

Feet Side Plates:

These ornamental plates were fabricated on fiberglass out of a silicon rubber mold. The originals were build on wood. The panels in the following pictures are not painted. This is the fiberglass gel coat natural finish.

Silicon rubber mold is shown above. The support is plaster. Fiberglass can also be used.

Some other ornaments:

For more of my ornaments, I used silicon rubber molds and liquid plastic. The original was often done on Aluminum.

The weird looking contraptions towards the upper center are actually my fiber optics mechanism implementation. Very cumbersome and hard to control so at the end, just placed a bulb and forgot about mood sensor flickering. Too bad, because this is a very important aspect of how lively R2D2 looks.
